Build Better Habits. Reach Better Goals with Kim Ravida

Setting goals, staying on tack and money mindset + Indiana Jones 😲

I sat down with my longtime friend and client, Kim Ravida, to talk about what helps small business owners make progress on the goals that matter.

Kim is a business coach who focuses on helping her clients create businesses that support their lives, not take them over.

We covered a lot in this conversation: how to figure out what goals are truly yours, how to follow through when life gets messy, and why your money mindset might be holding you back more than you think.

Kim’s approach is practical, honest, and built around the way you work.

Five takeaways that stood out

  • Your goals might not be yours
Kim helps business owners clarify what they truly want, rather than what others expect of them. A lot of us follow goals that were handed to us by society, family, or even former employers. If you’re struggling to reach your goals, it might be because they’re not the right ones for you.

  • If that, then this
One of Kim’s favorite strategies for follow-through is creating a backup plan for the things that tend to throw you off. Instead of letting disruptions derail your day, she recommends planning around them. For example, “If I have to pick up my kid early, then I’ll finish my newsletter at 7 PM.” That kind of thinking gives you structure and flexibility at the same time.

  • Find the system that fits you
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to productivity. Some people need digital tools. Others thrive with pen and paper. Kim works with clients to find what works for them, based on their preferences, responsibilities, and how their brain works, not what’s trending on Instagram.

  • Start small and trust the next step will show up
We talked about the overwhelm of having too many things on your to-do list. Kim shared a mindset shift: focus only on the next logical step. Don’t try to do it all at once.

  • Money mindset runs deep, and it’s fixable
Kim works with clients to uncover the stories they’ve been telling themselves about money and pricing. Whether it’s “people won’t pay that much” or “I don’t want to be greedy,” these beliefs often go unchallenged. Kim combines mindset work with practical tools (like pricing evaluations) to help business owners charge what they’re worth without guilt.
