When solo business owners tell me they want more clients, one of the first things I look at is how easy it is to find their content and how useful that content is once I do find it.
Here’s something you’ve probably noticed:
Google is rolling out more and more AI-generated Overviews on search results. And if your content is optimized correctly, it can appear in those summaries.
That means more visibility, which leads to more clicks, more trust, and yes—more clients.
Here’s one smart, doable way to make that happen.
Create Answer-Based Content
To increase your chances of appearing in Google’s AI Overview, focus on creating skimmable, solution-based content.
That means:
FAQs
How-to guides
Definitions
Comparisons
Basically, content that gives people quick answers in plain language.
Instead of trying to be clever or complex, be clear and useful. Google’s AI Overview looks for content that’s easy to pull into a quick summary. The easier you make it, the more likely you content is to show up.
Why It Matters
In its early experimental phase, Google's AI Overview appeared in about 84% of search queries in the U.S. on Chrome desktop, and even more on mobile devices. Since its rollout worldwide, it has reached approximately 15%. (source)
That means many of your potential clients are seeing AI-generated summaries before they even get to the list of search results.
If you’re not showing up there, someone else is.
And here’s the thing: people trust those summaries. If your content helps answer a question clearly and quickly, you get seen as the authority, even before someone visits your site.
More trust. More clicks. More leads.
6 Steps to Get Started Optimizing Your Content
Here’s how to make your content easier to find and feature:
1. Pick a question your ideal client is already asking.
Use Google Search, Reddit, AnswerThePublic, surveys, or even your inbox. What are people always asking you?
2. Write an FAQ-style post.
Use clear H2 or H3 headers for each question. Keep your answers short, direct, and helpful. 100–150 words max is a good rule of thumb.
3. Define important terms.
Don’t assume people know your industry jargon. Write like you’re explaining it to someone smart but unfamiliar.
4. Break down your answers into steps or lists.
Think: “3 ways to repurpose a blog post for LinkedIn” or “Step-by-step: how to create a branded FAQ page.”
5. Include a simple image or explainer video.
It’s not required, but it helps build trust and may improve your chances of being pulled into the Overview.
6. Check how you’re showing up.
Use Google Search and type your questions. Do you see an Overview? Are you included? You can also use a tool like SEOTesting to track this.

One More Way to Optimize Your Content
Answer-based content doesn’t have to be long or complicated. But it does need to be easy to scan.
Make your paragraphs short. Use bullets or numbered steps. Avoid jargon. And most importantly, speak like a real person, not a marketer.
A good test? Read your post out loud.
If it sounds like something you’d say in a conversation, you’re on the right track.
Another trick: turn your answer into a short video or infographic. Post that to LinkedIn or your newsletter.
You’re repurposing your visibility, not just your content.
